7lbs 7oz
19 1/2 inches

Colby surprised us by being about 3 1/2 weeks early! Lucky for Donnie, his plane back from his Mexico fishing trip had just come in on May 24th at 8pm. He went straight to the station that night, planning to work the last day of his shift. My water broke at 2:30am May 25th. Janet and Jackson took me to the hospital, and Donnie was able to get there around 6am. And little guy joined us at 10am! A healthy 7 pounds, 7ounces for being so early.
We had to stay at the hospital for 48 hours, policy for early babies. Colby already followed the footsteps of his older brother by spending some time under the bili lights for jaundice, per our request. Things are so different the second time around. With Jackson, I think we were so confused, shocked, emotional, and scared about being readmitted for jaundice that I didn't even take pictures of him under the lights. We just kind of wanted to forget it. This time around, we practically were requesting Colby be put under the lights preventatively so his jaundice wouldn't get bad. It was so much nicer at this hospital too, where they wheel the machine right into your room.
Getting a suntan,

And after one more night, we're home!
Looking pretty similar to Jackson as a baby,

I think Colby had a bit of practice sleeping by himself under the lights, because so far he's a pretty easy baby! Not much a of crier, only when he's being changed or hungry.
