Friday Fun

We just got back from JV Liquors Friday Night Tastings! Sometimes I meet up with Janet and Mark for the tastings, but I guess I haven't written about it yet. Well, tonight's was especially fun!

Linda (the wine lady) had a blind taste test called, "This cost HOW much?!" You had to guess the under $20 and over $20 wine. Turns out, we like cheap wine! No, she said it really wasn't about choosing the expensive or cheap wine, but to figure out what you like. But if I like cheap wine, that's okay by me!

9 Months!

You are 3/4 of a year today! I can't believe how close you are to 1!

To say you're keeping us busy is an understatement. We call you the little bulldozer because that's what you do. I "clean" one room (meaning straightening up the toys) and you bulldoze through. But not just toys, you stop and throw around anything in your path. You're interested in how things work too. Like your newest thing is to swing the doors open and closed. Only when you close it, you have to crawl along behind it. Then when it's closed, you are stuck sitting behind it and cannot get it open because you're in the way. That's tons of fun when we're in another room and you're screaming in a room with the door closed and we can't get it open because you're sitting in the way. Fun.

You're also adorable this month too. You've learned to clap, wave, and point. When we ask "Where's Dada?" you can point at Dada, adorable! Your first 2 little bottom teeth are finally through. Cruising is your favorite thing to do at the moment. You're quite the daredevil, seeing how far you can reach to the next object. Thank goodness after standing you've learned to get down by yourself! You can crawl faster than a grownup can walk, but I think you get frustrated because you know you're not walking.

We even got you a 3/4 birthday present,

your very own Baby-Jail!!

I didn't think we'd need one and you proved me wrong. Donnie also put the latches on all of the cabinets yesterday, which you will probably figure out faster than Dada & Mama can get used to them being on there.

Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.

More Zoo

Jackson was not a fan of the goats, can you blame him?

The paparazzi sneaks up on Donnie,

On the way home we stopped at Ikea and Jackson went crazy when we bought frozen yogurts! (I walk to Browns Valley Market practically everyday, and we just finally had our first yogurt this week! He definitely recognized it!) Little booger hasn't mastered how to lick an ice cream, he would just open his mouth and expect you to stick it in! He wouldn't even close his mouth over the ice cream.

The Zoo!

More pics to come tomorrow, but these are my favorites so far!
MerryGoRound
His first Merry-Go-Round, a zebra!
ZooStroller
and twinking eyes at lunch, always his favorite.

Thankful Thursday

1. Abram Jonathan! Born this morning 10:19am 6lb 8oz to Stace and Ryan, congratulations!

2. Our new neighbors from New York! Well, they're not that new, they moved in before Jackson. But we finally got together for dinner this past week, and they're a hoot! They have 2 boys just barely older than Jackson that should give him some good rough-housing. Donnie's going to build a mini-gate in between our fences for them, adorable!

3. Hmmm, it's a little materialistic but our new car. It's my mini-van in disguise (an SUV) and my back hasn't hurt from having to bend down into the little car for a couple weeks now! Good thing we love it cause it's here to stay for a while!

Little Swimmer

Both these were taken BEFORE the big haircut.

Just Say No....

to CAMO!!!

Yep, I will admit it, I cringe when I see camouflage.

I didn't at first. I agree it's very fun to buy. When I found out we were expecting, I wrapped up a very cute camouflage onesie for a gift to tell Donnie. BUT, have I ever put Jackson in that onesie?? Nope. Have I ever dressed him in the various camo we have? Nope. Why? I just don't want my boy looking like he just came from a swamp or the trench.

Of course I will think it's adorable when Jackson and Donnie go on their first hunting or camping adventure together all decked out in camo. And I do like the perfect camo cargo shorts. But, until then, I'll dress him nicely like the little adorable he is.

Monticello Saturday

I will add the details in a little bit, but we had a great Saturday! Our friends Cheryl & Nick and their adorable almost 6 month Eli, and Nicole & Jeff (who are now in Napa!), and the 3 of us went to Monticello Winery for a picnic and tasting!

First Haircut

Well, I finally gave in. I really wanted to wait until after his first birthday to get a cut, but poor Jackson was a shaggy wet dog during swimming lessons.

It's a little short for my liking, but the lady only charged me $5!

Hmmm?!?!

Little Bump in the Road

We had a teeny accident today at the pool. I took the brunt of it. Jackson came out with a little road rash on his face that'll clear up in a week. I lost my big toenail *cringe*. Ouch, yep, the whole thing. That isn't coming back in a week.

But, does the pain of my toenail keep replaying in my head? Nope. My little baby hurt crying does. Ah, he's a boy, I may have to get used to it, unfortunately.

Here he is, happy again, and loving his mirror friend.

Photoshop Online

Well, I ended up dropping my photoshop class. I know, I know, but I really wanted to enjoy my summer and not be stressed out. (And, now that I've gone to one class, I know where all the lessons are online, heheh!)

But, my friend Jessica told me about this free Photo Editing Frame-Ups class. You had to sign up quick while they were free, and I got in! Thank you!

It's 2 weeks of lessons they email and you watch whenever you please. Nice!

Check out my first creation! And do you see what I caught Jackson doing??? *tear, tear*

Thankful Thursday

1. A non-crying baby during swim lessons. The instructors keep calling Jackson "chill-dude." You should see the other kids holding onto the wall and hear the screaming. Jackson is sooooo cranky the rest of the day (teeth?), but at least swimming is his one mellow time. He was so comfortable, he even fell asleep during swim lessons last week.

2. A great Tuesday! Blair came up and she, Janet, and I went to swimming lessons, Farmer's Market, Sweetie Pies lunch, napped, and had happy hour with Mark! A whole day I didn't notice Mr.Cranky Pants, he was so happy too.

3. Donnie home! Since it's summer, we get to spend Wednesdays through Saturdays together. So nice to have Jackson double-teamed and get to do family things.
