Weekly Photos :)

I check blogger every day, I just never seem to be able to post every day :)  So here's a whole bunch of pictures for you to enjoy, although they're a bit mundane.

Had to use up a can of pumpkin, so we made some pumpkin bread.  It was not fabulous.

Homemade soup in homemade bread bowls.  This WAS fabulous!

homemade soup in homemade bread bowls. @drp5 don't worry, we were just testing, we will do it with you home too.

I might die of the cuteness.

My lovely cousins and aunt visited lsat night.  Jackson watched TV in our room and let us ladies watch in the family room.  Such a gentleman.

Pouring down rain shopping.  This poster for a bike exhibit hung in the shop windows.  We loved the poster and I called today and they have them available for $5!  I will pick you up one Dawn!  I can't wait to get mine framed and in our home.  Although it really makes me want the Jake Early bike print too.  Maybe I'll ask for that for my birthday/Christmas.  Jackson's already picking out his Christmas list, maybe I can too.

Instagram Dump

Colby's fangs.  His fangs grew in before his front teeth.  They're hilarious, although a bit creepy.  His front two teeth are just popping through now.

Colby is a vampire. he tries to hide his fangs, but they're both there. before any other toppers.

This is Lola, one of our friendliest chicks.  Although I thought she was our friendliest chick but now I think it's just that she beat out the others in trying to show that they were friendly too.  I *think* they're all named now.

Lola & Patty (the yellow Buff Orpingtons).  Lola is seen below and Patty I call Crazy Patty.  She is by far the unfriendliest chick and runs around screaming if you try to pick her up.  Patty is also showing she's last in the pecking order and kind of the runt.

Pixie & Dixie. (the Rhode Island Reds) At first Jackson named one Woody, which I was calling her for a bit, but felt weird to call her with a boy's name.  He really likes Pixie & Dixie, so we'll switch to those.

Roxanne & Abbey (the dark Golden Wyandottes)  Roxanne because I love Sting and they all sit under the red light, and I think the last one will be named Abbey after The Beatles Abbey Road.  These are the smallest, but the best fliers.  They will fly right onto you when you take the chicken wire off the top of the bin, which is a necessity now.

Lola. friendliest chick. loves curling up in your hand. jackson calls her, 'woahwa.'

Mint ice cream made in our new ice cream maker on St. Patty's day.  I have a feeling we are going to LOVE this new gadget.  We just made another batch with mini chocolate chips in it today.

mint ice cream. happy party's day!

St. Patrick's Day fun.  We had Irish Bangers for breakfast, Lucky Charms for snack (Jackson has never had them and ate out all of the marshmallows and handed me back the cup with the cereal.  Nice.), and our usual corned beef, potatoes, and carrots for dinner.  No cabbage, no thank you.

thank you pinterest!

3.13.12

Tuesdays Jackson goes to swimming lessons.  Little kids diving has to be one of the top 10 most hilarious things to watch.  This dive of Jackson's isn't one of the funny ones, he's actually not too bad anymore, but he'll have a fluke and still be funny once in a while.

After swimming I did some CD drop-offs for clients.  We were on the north side of town near the cupcake shop, it was raining, and they have a drive-thru window, so we stopped of course.  Jackson fell asleep in the car with all of the driving.  We got home and I carried him to his chair to watch TV.  I put Colby to nap in his crib, came back out, and Jackson was back asleep.  It is about a 1 in 100 chance both kids are sleeping together (unless Donnie is holding them) when I'm with them by myself.  Bachelor DVR, a cupcake, and two kids napping.  Heaven.

a cupcake, bachelor dvr, and 2 napping.

I keep thinking it's still February (last post).  Time is flying way too quickly lately.

This is when Colby was trying edamame wild rice salad.  It was worth a shot.

Little Chicks

We are loving our little chicks.  Every day Jackson wants to go see them and hold them.  At first, he was a bit scared to pick them up.  He would swing his arm around and proclaim he "couldn't" do it.  It was all pretend.  I think he was just a bit scared to hurt them after squeezing one a bit too much on the first day.  But, he got over it and loves them now.   He can pick them up quickly now whenever he wants, which is probably too often.

He named this one either Patty or Patsy.  Not sure where that came from.  I can't seem to find the little paper where I wrote down which color was what (and which kind we actually bought) but we're pretty sure this one is a Buff Orpington,

Jackson&Patsy

And with a Rhode Island Red,

Jackson&RI

We have two of each kind.  This last one is a Wyandotte and although they're the smallest, seem to be the most friendly and the only ones who are skilled enough to jump up and roost on the box.  May be time to get rid of the box and get them a mini-perch.

one week old and attempting a break out.

3.7.12

Colby LOVES the chicks.  He's not the most gentle with them, but he loves swinging his hand around the tub and trying to pet them.  He's trying to go over and see them here,

trying to break his buddies out.

My first attempt at free form bread.  It was the best yet!

I guess we had lots of goodies when Donnie was at work this week.  Sorry!

By far the best part was feeding the giraffes.  Colby and I waited in line until it was going to start while Donnie kept Jackson busy.  Then we switched out Colby for Jackson, and he and I got to feed the giraffes.

2.29.12

Little man obsessed with green smoothes. Jackson says they are, "Kind of awful, kind of good," then drinks the whole thing.

Colby is apparently obsessed with green smoothies.  He freaks out when you take it away.  Jackson says they are, "Kind of awful, kind of good," and then drinks the whole thing anyways.  We might try freezing them into cubes to put into Colby's mesh feeder, so he can eat them himself whenever he wants.

Jackson fell asleep in the middle of Swiss Family Robinson.
