755...
My seniority rank is 755 out of 930, and they're cutting 82. (You want to be #1) Seems like I would be okay, right? Well, I won't know for sure until March 13.
930 is all of the teachers in the district, and they're cutting 60 elementary teachers. So, of the 175 with a lower seniority rank than me, 60 of them need to be elementary teachers. Eek, fingers are really crossed. And toes.
To end on a good note though, here's Jackson showing off his new-found love of his fingers!

One year ago today....
...we found out we were expecting! What an amazing day. Of course, Donnie was at work, so I found out and had to wait 2 days to tell him. I didn't want to tell him over the phone! So, I waited and waited, and when he came home, he had a package waiting for him. It looked like clothes for him, but when he opened it, I had put a little box on top. And he saw the pic above, he didn't believe it. He really didn't. He made me go do it again and would not peel his eyes from it until it flashed "pregnant" again. Hilarious! But really, that one word has been the greatest gift we've ever received.

Waiting, waiting...
So, the news is out that my school district is cutting teachers. Now we're just waiting, waiting, to see if I'm one of the ones who're cut or not. Fingers crossed I'm not!
But, life at home is good. Jackson is just happy as can be (most of the time!) He's grown to love stuffing things in his mouth and unfortunately has found his thumb. Yesterday the rain stopped long enough to go for a little walk. Hopefully the rain will be gone by this weekend. But, if not then we've set up his exersaucer and he loves it!
And here's a funny one. Jackson now easily can scoot out of his bouncer. Such a boy, he fell out and kept on watching TV...

Rainy Day
Ugh, rainy day. Which means I'm stuck inside all day with 20 kids. Next year it may be 28 kids! If they take away Class Size Reduction, we'll have up to 28 kids in Kindergarten through Third Grade classrooms. And of course, that is if I still have a job. They'll be cutting anywhere from 45 to 63 teachers next year if the budget goes through. So, we're hoping for the best, but preparing if the worst happens. Trying to think of the positive, I'll be home with Jackson, and actually have time to cut coupons or vegetable garden! I keep thinking that there's good that comes from every situation. So, if I were to lose my job, maybe I'll find something that I'm really good at.....besides my current job.

Jackson's 3 Months!
Yup, Jackson's 3 months, and now probably the biggest baby you've ever seen! But, he's such a happy little guy now.
Superbowl went well. Except for the Cardinals losing. I guess since I don't really care too much about either of the teams, it was a pretty good game. Actually exciting and not a blow-out for once. Unfortunately, I think Jackson was more excited about the ice skating that Janet, Susan, and I watched before the game. Uh oh! Donnie's not going to be too excited about that!

Wine Tasting Birthday Weekend!
This past weekend we finally celebrated my 30th birthday! Since my birthday's in December with the busy holidays, we decided to wait until January to celebrate, and we sure are glad we did! It was a wonderfully sunny, beautiful day.
All I wanted for my birthday is for my friends to come up wine tasting, so Donnie and I sprang for a limo and we got to do it the real way! Also, it's the way Donnie and I met. 4 years ago, for Heather's bachelorette we came up wine tasting in a limo/bus. After our first winery, for some reason we told the bus driver we wanted beer! So he drove way down-valley out of the way to Safeway, where the fire truck was waiting in the parking lot. The rest is history!
We started our tasting at Madonna Estate, personal friends of Donnie and I and one of our favorites. We had a wonderful tour and private tasting!
Next, we went to Ceja Vineyards. Donnie and I will definitely be back there again, what a wonderful small vineyard, with Bocce Ball! We even found out the winery has weekly Saturday Salsa lessons downtown, we'll have to try that sometime.

After spending time there we stopped for lunch at Oakville Grocery. The adorable grocery store on 29 that I always look at, but have never been in. We got sandwiches and chips and headed to our last winery, Fluery. Fluery was picturesque, with Adirondack chairs and vineyards all around. A beautiful end to the day! When we got home, Janet had made us a fabulous homey dinner, raviolis, casserole, and salad. I need to turn 30 again!
