The Ocean Beach

Jackson's been to the Tahoe beach, but Saturday we went to the ocean's beach!

Balloons!

Gotta love any store that just hands out balloons. It's actually only Jackson's second balloon, but it kept him busy staring at it in the cart when he's usually somewhat freaked being back on the side with the checker.

He's been bopping at it all day. We're considering buying him a little punching penquin type-thing like Sid the Science Kid has, he loves it so much!

If you look carefully, notice the 70's looking pillow in front of the fireplace? We've kind of been worried about him banging against the glass fireplace, he's quite the destructive kid by means of curiosity. So, Janet brought over these pillows! You would think I would hate their tackiness, but we had them when I was a kid and I love them! So many memories of making pillow sandwiches by squashing my cousins, movies on the floor, and forts inbetween the two couch corners. There's another blue one (equally as tacky) blocking Jackson out of a corner.

Breakfast

Thankful Thursday

1. It rained! Fire season might possibly be over.

2. Donnie is able to come to our school's reading night tonight. Brownie points for us for sure.

3. Survivor starts tonight!!! The only TV show we really watch. Reading night will be over at 7pm, time for us to pick up Panda Express and make it home in time.

Oh my grossness!

How do I turn my back and you do this? In like 2 seconds??? And I've scoured the backyard and can find nowhere where he did this?!

Jackson went straight to here...

I had quite a bit of trouble getting the mud out of his nose. (Yes, thank goodness it was mud and we have no dog.)

He used to get baths every other day, not anymore. This kid loves the dirt and comes in at night kicking & screaming for more time outside!

I like big butts...

..and I cannot lie!


If Jackson's butt looks a little over-sized all of the time, it's because of his CDs(cloth diapers)!!! Yup, we cloth, and yes, we love it.

Cloth has come a long way, aren't they adorable?! They velcro just like sposies and come in cute colors! It's not for everyone, but I'm not going to make you change my kid's diaper, so why care what we do anyways?!

I've always been a little crunchy, and our trash can is smaller than our neighbors with no kids and I love that!

Lunches

I have to inspire myself to make my own lunches everyday, and although I am SO excited to someday make Jackson's, I loathe making them for myself. At least when I do make them, I make them super healthy but yummy.

I found these little bento picks and how cute are they! There are 8 more, all different animals. They are definitely getting saved for Jackson's lunches.


I usually don't get political on here (and I'm not starting now), but at our school this morning it was announced that Obama was making a Back to School Speech and our classes could choose to watch it or not. My class chose to, (anything TV of course) and for the very first time in my teaching career, were actually enthralled with what a president was saying and enjoyed it! They worked so hard the rest of the day, whoopie!

State Fair

Our family took a trip to the State Fair yesterday, and it was so fun! Jackson was such a good boy the whole time and loved soaking all of the sights in.


He finally pet his first sheep (thankfully he didn't poke his eye out),

He liked some of them, (not this one though, he sounded like he was on steroids!)

but started wailing halfway through the inside farm animal area.

(It was actually pretty funny to hear him crying because of the sheep.)

And I'm a healthy freak with Jackson most of the time, but if you're at the fair he has to try some corndog!
